We're excited to share details about this vital committee and its role in supporting our English language learners.What is ELAC?The English Language Advisory Committee is a group of parents, teachers, and community members dedicated to supporting and advocating for English language learners (ELLs) at our school. ELAC plays a crucial role in ensuring that our ELL students receive the resources and support they need to succeed academically and linguistically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising the principal and school staff on programs and services for English learners
- Assisting in the development of the school's needs assessment for ELL students
- Providing input on the school's language census (R-30 report)
- Raising awareness about the importance of regular school attendance
